Meeting started at 5:35 p.m.

I.  Reports

A.  Minutes (10/19/04)

  1. Student Report (Paul Schmitz)

¥Reported on ÒSuccessful HomecomingÓ.  Profits split between classes and Student Government.  Paul Schmitz reported that this was the best homecoming he has ever attended.  Usually 300 attendees.  This year over 500.  Great D.J. 

¥Student Government Ð Fall Feast for veterans and senior citizens on October 18

hosted by the Student Government.  Turkey dinner served by students.  Paul

Schmitz gave an explanation of Student Government membership and role in the

school.

C.  F.A.C.T. Ð Mr. Jones discussed Spirit Committee Pep Rally and Bon Fire.

D.  COMCAST

¥Mr. Jones and Mr. McKee reported that direct line into the school from

Comcast will make our ability to feed to Comcast more accessible when the new

facility is finished.  Nick Kepple discussed Video Club and parent volunteer to

help get videos edited and help get Stonington High School become a regular on

Comcast.  Discussion concerning Groton and the resources, which they have vs.

Stonington.  Also, ComcastÕs link.

¥Jenna Moore will report back after recording the school play.

F.     Budget Process

¥Mr. McKee gave a brief explanation of the budget process including deadlines

and public meetings with the Board of Education.

¥Discussion of Joint SBIT meeting to discuss strategy to get people out to vote.

 SBIT Ð Summit in January ÒHow to Mobilize the Vote.Ó

II.  VisitorsÕ Comments - None

III.  SBIT Comments

¥Lynn Conway request that action goals be put into agenda. 

¥Please call or email Sue Weber a.s.a.p. as to whether or not you will be

 attending the December 21st meeting.

¥Committee would like to know if Mark Hunter is still going to attend the SBIT

meetings.

¥Paul Schmitz and Clare Sartor were selected to be co-chairs for 04-05.

IV.  Action

            ¥Pep Rally Ð Alternatives are being investigated by the schoolsÕ spirit committee

as to how to hold the Rally without the use of the Gym.

¥Bon Fire Ð Fire Marshall and Administration have been and are looking into

 feasibility of having a bon fire.

¥Jenna Moore will report back to SBIT on the possibility of a Video Club and

report on how well Comcast collaboration is in regard to playing school

recordings i.e. school play.

¥Budget Process Ð Joint SBIT will be organized by SBIT chair for January.
