Security at SHS

 

Safety, Security, Emergency Management Director on site.

• Crisis Response Plan in place and a copy given to every faculty member in the form of a "flip chart".

• Periodic Crisis Response drills ( 2 Code Red, 2 Code Blue, 2 Code Yellow, 10 Fire Drills).

• Cell Phone communication with Central Office.

• Direct Communication with police department through use of radios and the local government channel.

• Because the Police and Fire Personnel have badges that will allow them instant access, we have a fast response time.

• Utilizing SHSall e-mail.

• Utilizing "Alert Now" mass notification system.

• Building is totally locked between 7:30-2:00.

• All visitors must enter through Aiphone entry system.

• All Visitors assigned temporary badges with "Passage Point" visitor managing system. This system scans a driver's license for identification. Any person on a "watch list" will be identified if they try to enter the building and denied access.

• Security/Hall Monitors throughout building.

• Security/Hall Monitors always in touch with main office through two way radios in case of emergency situation.

• Teachers stationed at exterior doors during X Block.

• Staff/Students must wear ID badges that have prox dots which will record an audit trail.

• 13 Security cameras installed which record activity to a digital format.

• Police have ability to view security cameras through their network at any time.

• Cyber Keys used at all "high security" areas.

• All issued keys are registered and signed for by applicant.

• Classroom doors have classroom security feature that will allow them to be locked from inside.

• Staff and faculty are trained to be diligent in reporting to the office visitors without proper badging.

• Defibrillator installed in gym area and by nurse's office for emergency use.
