Athletic Boosters

  xx

SHS Athletic Boosters is an organization of parents, teachers, coaches, and friends of SHS Athletes who volunteer their time to enrich the athletic program. They support all sports and students athletes involved at Stonington High School They raise money and can always be found at the Concession stands at football and basketball games. They provide scholarships, athletic awards and plaques as well as many special items not funded by the Board of Education. The Boosters also host the athletic banquets at the end of each season.

Boosters meet on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Library/Media Center.

They welcome new members and encourage each parent of each athlete to contribute time and/or money to help the athletes. Not all support is financial; they need volunteers also. They work very hard, but they have a lot of fun in the process. Your help is essential to a successful season for all sports and all student athletes!

In previous years the SHS Athletic Boosters provided the following:

• Four scholarships for seniors, two boys and two girls
• Up to forty summer camp scholarships in conjunction with the Friends of Mark Pescatello
• Non-budgeted supplementary items requested by coaches such as baseball practice balls, practice uniforms, a first baseman's mitt, and soccer balls
• Senior Breakfast supplies and serving
• Banquets for each season of sports
• Coordination and purchase of all ECC and All-State plaques, trophies, and awards.
• Purchase of a congratulatory ad in the Pawmystonian Yearbook
• Contribution to help fix the soccer field
• Scorer's table and an ECC banner (for our new gym

In order to provide these items, the Boosters rely on funds from the following:
